John Tipton, Principal

John Tipton comes from an entrepreneurial background, which includes experience in sales and marketing. John was a member in a Partnership that in the early 1990s acquired eight patents on a consumer electronics innovation, and later, licensed the technology to a major Japanese manufacturer. John wrote patent disclosures, marketing materials, video scripts, and technical papers for the project.

John also designed and co-developed a line of clothing products, where in addition, he wrote all the marketing materials, sales letters and catalogues.

Soon, John was writing video scripts and designing marketing pieces for a fledgling video production company. After several business acquaintances began asking him to help them with their own projects, John began to recognize that his abilities as a writer and project consultant could be used to help other people.

He began to combine his experience as an entrepreneur with his sales and marketing background, and his writing talents, and started taking on writing projects for a variety of businesses and organizations. A natural progression was to start JTea Communications, where John continues to write for, and collaborate with, a variety of clients on their diverse projects.

Further demonstrating his creativity, John is also a musician and singer-songwriter. John has received recognition as a solid writing talent. Along with co-writer Mike Forrester, John has received several original songwriting and music awards.

Education

John holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Corporate Communications from The University of Baltimore, and a degree in Computer Technology from CCBC Catonsville, Maryland.
